About Us

A library IT company that started inside a library.

Unbreaking Tech was built from real experience solving real problems for a real Indiana public library. Today we bring those same solutions to libraries across the state.

Our Story

How Unbreaking Tech started.

Unbreaking Tech began with a simple favor. Austin's mom, the director of Pike County Public Library, needed help with the library's technology. Austin, a Purdue computer science graduate, stepped in to help, and quickly discovered that public libraries face a distinct set of IT problems that most general-purpose IT shops aren't built to solve.

What started as helping one library became a set of repeatable, purpose-built solutions: systems that stay running with minimal staff effort, hardware that's safe for public use, and software tools designed around how libraries actually operate.

Today, Unbreaking Tech is taking those same solutions to other public libraries across Indiana—bringing what works at Pike County Public Library to the broader library community.

The people behind Unbreaking Tech.

Founder & Owner

Austin Rawlins

Austin is a Purdue University computer science graduate and a former member of the Purdue Club Ice Hockey team. He founded Unbreaking Tech after helping his mom, the director of Pike County Public Library, solve the kinds of IT problems libraries run into every day. That experience turned into a product and service business focused entirely on public libraries.

He leads strategy, customer relationships, and product direction for Unbreaking Tech.
